From April 25th to 30th, 2017, invited by Prof. Svatopluck Zeman, an internationally renowned expert on energetic materials, Prof. Jianguo Zhang and other 6 scholars at the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology participated in the 20th International Seminar, "New Trends In Research of Energetic Materials".

The 20th International Symposium on New Progress in Energetic Materials Research was organized by the Institute for Energetic Materials, School of Chemical Engineering, Pardubice University, Czech Republic. It is an important series of conferences for the field of energetic materials and has been held for 19 consecutive years. It has been highly recognized by international peers. More than 200 experts from 20 countries, including Czech Republic, United States, Russia, United Kingdom, Germany, and China, attended the conference. The State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology has participated in this international conference for seven consecutive years from 2011 to this year. A total of seven people participated this year. The report of the meeting caused a great interest from other participants.

Prof. Zhang Jianguo has been a member of the Scientific Committee for six consecutive years to participate this international conference and has played an important role. Recently, he completed the translation work of Prof. Robert from the Institute of Energetic Materials of Pardubice University and the monograph of "Detonation Pharmacy" written by Dr. Jiri and published it in Beijing Institute of Technology Press. He gave a gift during the conference via a book ceremony.
