From February 27-March 2, 2017, Professor Hng Huey Hoon, Doctor Sreekumar Pisharath and Doctor Seng Yeow Sing from Energetics Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University visited the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology (SKLEST) and each of them gave a brilliant academic report. The report was hosted by Professor Chen Lang from Energetic Material Division of the State Key Laboratory of Explosion Science and Technology.

        During the report, Professor Hng Huey Hoon gave a brief introduction of the basic situation, research directions and development plan of the Energetics Research Institute, and she also expressed a clear intention to cooperate with SKLEST on academic exchange and scientific researches. Doctor Sreekumar Pisharath introduced the results achieved by the team from the perspective of molecular design, preparation and sensitivity of energetic materials. Doctor Seng Yeow Sing introduced chemical reaction mechanism model, prediction of combustion performance of explosives and thermodynamic model in the process of impact. The reports aroused participants’ attention and interests and they discussed and won a round of applause.

        During the visit, Professor Hng Huey Hoon visited the simulation and computing center and some laboratories. She listened to the research results of some teachers from the laboratory and spoke highly of the research conditions and achievements. Leaders of the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering discussed with Professor Hng Huey Hoon about international cooperation projects and personnel training and reached a preliminary consensus.
