Russian expert Professor Valery P. Sinditskii comes to our school for academic exchange

From August 21 to September 5, 2017, by the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology, Prof. Valery P. Sinditskii of Mentelevich University of Technology of Russia went to Beijing Institute of Technology for academic exchange visits. "Energetic Materials of the Nitropyrazole Family: Unusual Thermal and Combustion Behaviors" and "Dihydroxylammonium 5,5-Bistetrazole-1,1'-diolate (TKX-50): Physico-chemical Properties and Mechanism of Thermal Decomposition and Combustion" Wonderful academic report. Prof. Zhang Tonglai, Prof. Qiao Xiaojing, Associate Professor Li Shengcai, Associate Professor Zhang Liansheng, and postgraduates of relevant majors in School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Materials Science participated in the report. The report was hosted by Prof. Zhang Jianguo, vice president of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Prof. Valery P. Sinditskii is an internationally renowned expert on energetic materials. He is an academic master of the “Innovation and Introduction Base for Safety and Protection Disciplines of Our School”. In his report, Professor Valery P. Sinditskii explained the pyrolysis mechanism of different nitropyrazoles. Combustion and combustion behaviors have been proposed. Analytical testing methods combining thermal analysis and pressure measurement techniques have been proposed. The reasons for the differences in the properties of these compounds have been compared and explained. The pyrolysis mechanism and the latest thermodynamic data of TKX-50 have been introduced. After the report, Professor Sinditskii interacted and communicated with the graduate students and teachers there. His rigorous work style is very worth learning. The teachers and students have benefited greatly.

During the visit, Prof. Chen Pengwan, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, held talks with Prof. Sinditskii. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on further deepening scientific research co-operation, personnel training, and the construction of the “Innovation and Introduction Base for Security and Protection Discipline Innovation”.
