On the afternoon of November 15th, at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology, Associate Professor Yannick Pannier of the French National Institute of Advanced Machinery and Aviation Technology gave a lecture entitled "On the use of Digital image Correlation and Microtomography to study material properties.”
Prof. Chen Pengwan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials, and Guo Baoqiao, the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology, teachers of Dai Kaida, and Ma Yu, teacher of Yuhang Academy attended the report. The report was hosted by teacher Guo Baoqiao.
Professor Yannick Pannier's report focused on the acquisition of 3D volume images using micro-CT technology and the use of 3D digital body-related techniques to calculate the internal deformation field of heterogeneous materials. According to the report, there are two methods for acquiring three-dimensional body images: one is the Tomography method based on X-Ray scattering, in which the acquisition time is long, and the accuracy is poor; the other is the transmission method based on synchrotron (synchronous radiation source), having fast acquisition speed and high accuracy. They use a method based on the latter, and have developed a digital volume-related procedure for calculating the 3D volume deformation field. Finally, this method is presented by combining two examples of the deformation of the alloy at high temperatures, the calculation of the deformation field, the localized liquefaction and the deformation of sand particles in a transparent container and the analysis of the movement damage applications. The report will arouse the strong interest of the teachers and students present. The teachers and students have conducted in-depth exchanges with the Tomography method of CT technology acquisition and X-Ray scattering with Associate Professor Yannick Pannier.
