On December 1, 2011, two professors David Lempert and Tatiana S. Pivina of the Russian Academy of Sciences visited the University of China and conducted academic exchanges at the invitation of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology.

Prof. David Lempert and Prof. Tatiana S. Pivina respectively gave special academic reports entitled “Energetic characteristics estimation for high enthalpy substances as compounds of solid composite propellants” and “Computer Simulation of Structure and Physical Chemical Characteristics of High Energy Compounds”. The frontier of his research work is novel, academic reports are lively and interesting, and they are highly praised.

The report was chaired by Prof. Zhang Jianguo, Director of the Energetic Materials Research Department. Prof. Wang Cheng, Deputy Director of the State Key Laboratory of Explosive Science and Technology attended the report meeting. Some young teachers and postgraduates from School of Mechatronical Engineering, School of Chemical Engineering and Material Science attended the report. After the report meeting, David Lempert and Tatiana S. Pivina visited some of the laboratories. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on relevant cooperation issues.
