Prof. Chen Pengwan, Prof. Wu Yanqing and Associate Prof. Xue Xi participated in the 18th International Conference on Coagulation Media Shock Compression

On July 7, 2013, the 18th Agglomeration Shock Compression Conference (APS-SCCM, American Physical Society Topical Group on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter) organized by the American Physical Society was held in Seattle, Washington, USA. The conference was held in conjunction with the 24th International Association for the Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology (AIRAPR), which was chaired by Choong-Shik Yoo, Rip Collins and David Moore for 6 days.

Prof. Chen Pengwan, Prof. Wu Yanqing, and Prof. Xue Xi attended the meeting and Professor Chen Pengwan gave a lecture entitled “Size-effect of explosive sensitivity under low velocity” at the session venue for energetic materials and "A novel assembly used for hot-shock consolidation" oral report at the session venue for the new material. Professor Wu Yanqing gave an oral report entitled “Microscopic modeling of ignition and burning of well-posed energetic crystals in response to drop-weight impact”. Associate Professor Xue Wei gave an oral report entitled “Jetting formation of explosive dispersal of hybrid particles” at the meeting place for energetic materials. These reports have aroused the keen interest of international experts and conducted lively exchanges and discussions on related issues.

The Coagulation Medium Impact Compression Conference was established in 1984 as an international conference to promote the exchange and development of materials in the field of dynamic high pressure properties. It is also a top rally in the field of impact dynamics. Many leading scientists and researchers have participated in the conference." The conference is held every two years and covers the fields of shock compression and detonation physics, including experimental, theoretical and numerical simulation studies, as well as new experimental methods and developments. By participating in the conference, it is possible to conduct zero-distance communication with the leading figures in the field of condensed media shock compression, which opens up the horizon and expands the international academic influence of key laboratories.
