Professor Gordon E. Andrews is the Professor of School of Chemical and Process Engineering, University of Leeds since 1994. His research interests is about Applications in Aviation/Aerospace, Biomass and Torrefied Biomass Flame Propagation and Gasification Burners, Fire and Explosion Engineering, Gas Turbine Combustors, Real World SI and Diesel Engine Emissions，dust explosions, VCEs and explosion venting. He Worked on gas explosions since 1969 and dust explosions since 1995. Up to now, he has published over 500 papers in many famous international journals, such as Journal of Loss Prevention in the Process Industries, Fuel, SAE International Journal of Engines, Fire Safety Journal, Biomass and Bioenergy, Chemical Engineering Transactions, etc. He has published two books named Interactions of fast explosions with an obstacle and Leeds health Air pollution, Noise, Traffic and Emissions Research Network.
