报告人简介:
Steeve CHUNG KIM YUEN is an associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cape Town. He is the Deputy Director of the Blast Impact and Survivability Research Centre.
Steeve received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in South Africa in 2006. He has worked the field of structural impact and computational mechanics for more than twenty He has already published numerous articles on the response of structures to blast loading and energy absorption characteristics of tubular structures (under different aspects). He has also presented a number of papers at national and international conferences.
报告摘要:
The presence of landmines and increase use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) presents substantial threats worldwide. This presentation presents the results a study to assess the damage by detonating “encased” buried explosive under different conditions (depth of burial, height of burial, stand-off distance, moisture content) with a view to simulating the detonation of a scaled down landmine (on a laboratory scale with carefully controlled parameters).
